LedgerLeaf

For small Canadian Shopify stores

Your Shopify sales, tax and profit — in a spreadsheet you own.

LedgerLeaf syncs orders, products, customers and inventory into your Google spreadsheet, then builds the two reports Canadian merchants actually need: GST/HST/PST/QST collected by province and real profit after COGS, discounts, refunds, shipping and fees.

Free plan available. Pro is $12 CAD / month with a 14-day free trial.

Built around how Canadian stores actually report

Other Shopify sheet connectors dump rows. LedgerLeaf adds the Canadian layer on top.

Sales tax by province

Tax collected per province, split into GST, HST, PST and QST, by month or quarter — from your order tax lines and shipping province. Ready to hand to your bookkeeper.

Real profit, not just revenue

Gross sales, discounts, refunds, net sales, COGS, shipping, payment fees and margin %, by month and by product. Add costs right in the sheet where Shopify has none.

Clean, typed tabs

Orders, Line Items, Products, Customers and Inventory with frozen headers, real numbers and dates, and both shop and presentment currency (CAD and USD). Re-syncs update rows — no duplicates.

Your data stays yours

The add-on talks to Shopify directly from your Google account. Your Shopify data and credentials never touch our servers. Read-only access only.

Auto-sync (Pro)

Hourly, 6-hourly or daily scheduled refresh, resumable for large stores, with an email if a run fails.

Multiple stores (Pro)

Bring several Shopify stores into one spreadsheet, each row tagged with its store.

See your profit month by month

Profit uses Shopify unit cost where it exists, or a COGS column you can edit in the sheet.

Up and running in three steps

  1. Install

Add LedgerLeaf to a Google spreadsheet from the Workspace Marketplace.

  2. Connect your store

Create a free app in the Shopify Dev Dashboard and paste its client ID and secret. Step-by-step guide.

  3. Sync & report

Click Sync now, then build your tax and profit reports.

Privacy by design

Shopify data goes straight from Shopify to your spreadsheet via your own Google account. Our server never sees your orders, customers or Shopify credentials — it only stores your email address and subscription status so Pro can be unlocked. Read the Privacy Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to be a developer to connect Shopify?

No. You create a small app in your Shopify Dev Dashboard (about five minutes) and paste two values into the add-on. Our setup guide walks through every click.

Does LedgerLeaf see my Shopify data?

No. The add-on runs in your Google account and calls Shopify directly. Your Shopify credentials are stored in your own Google account's add-on storage, never in the sheet and never on our server.

Can it change anything in my store?

No. It requests read-only scopes (orders, products, customers, inventory). There is no write-back.

How accurate is the tax report?

It totals the tax lines Shopify recorded on each order, grouped by shipping province and tax type. It is a reporting aid, not tax advice — refunded tax, exemptions and filing rules are your responsibility, so check figures with your accountant.

How is profit calculated?

Net sales (gross minus discounts and refunds) plus shipping charged, minus COGS, shipping cost and payment fees. COGS comes from the unit cost in Shopify, or from a column you fill in on the Products tab. Shopify does not know what you pay carriers, so shipping cost defaults to what you charge customers and you can change that percentage.

Why not just use a cheaper connector?

Plenty of connectors will copy rows into a sheet. LedgerLeaf is for Canadian merchants who also want provincial tax and profit reports without building formulas.

Can I get orders older than 60 days?

Yes, with the Pro plan and the read_all_orders scope on your Shopify app, which Shopify must approve. The setup guide explains how to request it.

How do I cancel or delete my data?

Cancel from Settings in the add-on (Manage subscription). To delete synced data, use Settings → Delete all data. To remove your email from our records, see the Privacy Policy.
